Welcome to the official website of the Nepal Medical Council (NMC).

The Nepal Medical Council as a regulatory body holds primary responsibility is to safeguard public health and promote competency, maintain professionalism, integrity, ethical practice and lifelong learning among NMC registered practitioners.

In order to maintain the high standards in medical services, ensuring ethical practice, and placing patient safety and to keep pace with changing landscape of the healthcare system, recent advancement in medicine and evolving society, we shall strengthen our regulatory frameworks and adapt to new developments in technology, and medical science.

Our current strategic priorities include:

1. Implementation of a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) program as an essential and mandatory component for medical and dental doctors, ensuring that every registered doctor enhances their knowledge, skills, and professional capacity and stays up to date with evidence-based practices.
2. Collaboration and coordination with regulatory bodies responsible for medical education, healthcare institutions, professional councils, healthcare professionals, patients and consumers, academic institutions, and other relevant stakeholders.
3. Enforcing Professional Ethics for maintaining standards of integrity, accountability, and compassionate care.
